For The Media

College Convention 2000 and 2004 brought nearly 1000 high school and college students together for a first-hand look at the workings of democracy and interactions with presidential candidates. These conferences also drew scores of media representatives from around the world to cover the event, seek out stories, conduct interviews, and offer commentary from a unique vantage point and through a new generation of American voters.
From all indications, the interest in College Convention 2008 by participants and media alike will greatly surpass that shown in previous years. Organizers expect a significant increase in attendance from students, candidates, and media.
In order to serve members of the press, New England College will provide a media credentialing process designed to facilitate the coverage of this important event. Members of the press may find the following information helpful.
- Media credentials will be issued to authorized reporters representing national and international daily, weekly, or monthly publications, news agencies, cable and commercial television stations, radio stations, and on-line media. Credentials will also be issued to essential team members including photographers and video and audio technicians.
- Media credentials will be non-transferable.
- All personnel representing commercial interests or special interest groups will be reviewed on a per case basis and must complete the credentialing process.
- New England College welcomes media representatives from high school and college publications, television, and radio, and will require the same credentialing process as for all other media representatives.
- Credentialing for College Convention 2008 will begin on July 1, 2007 and continue through the conference dates of November 28 - December 1, 2007. Completing the credentialing process well in advance of College Convention 2008 is strongly recommended.
- Media credentials will remain valid for the duration of College Convention 2008.
- New England College will coordinate with the Center of New Hampshire Radisson Hotel to provide parking for satellite trucks. Requests should be made as early as possible. All other vehicles will have access to on-site parking on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Access to power, internet, mult-boxes, phone and fax lines, and special lighting will be limited. New England College will attempt to honor as many requests as possible and specific requests should be made as early as possible.
- New England College will be happy to work with media representatives to attempt to arrange one-on-one interviews with organizers, candidates, and delegates, or to connect the media representative with a particular candidate’s PR staff.
- New England College reserves the right to amend this policy as necessary or to revoke the media credential of any individual. Reasons may include, but are not limited to, misrepresentation, misconduct, or the disruption of any event.
